An Old Promise Of My Friend Poem by nimal dunuhinga

An Old Promise Of My Friend

Rating: 5.0

One of my friends a documentary film maker
Who promised me to give a role in his latest film.
The saga of an uprooted family live in a remote village
And I am their great grand father.
My photograph with a lame horse was hanged on the wall
That remained in the entire film.
At the end of the movie,
The camera focused on me a close up
And they found tears in my eyes.
I was the nominee for the best supporting actor.

Your tears bring life to the portrait that hangs throughout the film. Perhaps the award is some compensation for the tragedy of your emigration to a strange land. Nimal, you grow poems like oranges on a tree. This one is large and juicy. Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
