And Do They Hear Him... Poem by Kathlene Ann

And Do They Hear Him...

And do they hear him crying?
Crying?
Streams flow from high to low,
Down, down cheeks and mountain-like peaked lips.
And still he's crying,
Crying.

But do we see their pain?
Pain?
They try to help both him and I. Help how?
How help when they too are in pain,
Pain.

How could she taste one's joy?
Joy?
Tongues roll in lust, dance in the dusk,
Then say, 'I must! , ' and leave so one's tongue is just as lonely in the morn'.
She could not taste joy for it travelled with him.
Joy.

Who in this world can feel—fill—the void?
Void?
Blood flows in and out, but still the heart lies empty.
Empty, it cries crimson tears cause it can't take the lies.
Still nothing fills—no one feels the void.
Void.
Joy.
Pain.
Crying.
And still the boy lies crying, crying.
