And We Are - Poem by Paola Degli Esposti

half of the circle
peak of the pyramid
parallel lines
and we are thirsty for life
and we are hungry for doing
meek and mild
and us is the word that counts
first of all,
riding through decades
bargain can be heavy. Barricades,
if the misery can adjust the outburst,
wealth can improve the wisdom,
meek and mild,
It is not all right.
And we are thirsty for life,
and we are hungry for doing
and we grow
stronger than before,
it is what it counts, now:
meek and mild;
half of the circle
peak of the pyramid
parallel lines
us is the word.
Look over the arch:
is it a perfect thing, isn't it?
At least at first sight,
would you mind?
Meek and mild,
it is just a comparison or a mirror or a conjuction:
we are thirsty for life
we are hungry for doing
it is what it counts.
