Angel In Disguise Poem by Shayna O'Connell

He entered my life unoticed
we met during sophmore year
cheered me up when I was blue
his soothing voice was so sincere

He was there at every dance
making sure that I had fun
dancing with me when he could
and amusing anyone

His quirky ways make me smile
whenever I'm feeling down
when his eyes lock onto mine
I feel ten feet off the ground

One day he saw me crying
held me tightly in his arms
said that it would be alright
that I was safe from harm

When I told him what was wrong
he said it would be fine
saying that it soon will pass
healing over time

He told me stories of his youth
from when he was a boy
some would bring him tears of pain
and others tears of joy

As I listened to him speak
of the path that I should choose
with him always by my side
I knew I couldn't lose

Days went by then weeks had passed
I had shown signs of success
because he had believed in me
I had passed this awful test

I told him I was greatful
for all that he had done
he said it was no problem
he's just glad that I had won

He made me see what life is like
through someone elses eyes
more than just a friend to me
my angel in disguise.
