Angry And Worried Poem by Eric Niehoff

Angry And Worried

In confusion and desperation I sit.
Ready to have answers but only questions exist.
Try to put the pieces together but they just don’t fit.
Feeling powerless I slam the table with my fist.

Was there any way I could have avoided this?
Was there something I could have done differently?
If this is the end there’s a lot I will miss.
If only I could make one last heartfelt plea.

With no information it’s easy to believe the worst.
Denial fighting to comfort my thoughts.
Knowing very well my future feels cursed.
Drowning my misery with a fist full of shots.

Reaching on for that glimmer of hope.
Wanting everything to return normal.
Do I fight till the last breath or learn to cope?
Worry, regret, anger, feeling emotionally full.
