Anguish Of A Lover Iii Poem by David Oladipupo Olorunshola

Anguish Of A Lover Iii

What now,
And what do you want
From me.
After how many years
That we have known
Each other, I was there
When you mark your
Twenty- first birthday
Waited and watched over you.
I gave every thing
All that I am
All that I possess
Now, to you
I sound like a broken record
An empty drum,
That makes the loudest noise.
Don’t you understand?
I have nothing left
I gave my best to you,
My heart,
I gave my heart.

My heart bleeds,
For your love.

I am like a carcase
An empty shell
Without your love

From high school,
That we have known each other
You say; you want out
Forgetting how we started
It was love at first sight,
The attraction; the bonding

Please stop this bleeding,
Don’t want to bleed anymore.
My heart is bleeding,
Without your love.
