Animals in clothes I see
Driving cars or sipping tea
Animals in clothes I see
But they don't know what they are
These animals that drive a car?
Dress in clothes?
Sip the tea?
Just like you
Just like me
Very clever animals they'd be!
But they don't know what they are
These animals that drive a car
Dress in clothes
Sip the tea
Just like you
Just like me
So truly stupid animals they be
Not to realize what they are
Just because they drive a car
Sip the tea
Just like you
Just like me
Oh what stupid things we be
Not to realize what we are
Just because we drive a car
Dress in clothes
Sip the tea
So g-r-a-c-i-o-u-s-l-y!
You and Me
Oh what stupid things we are
Not to realize what we be
Animals that drive a car
Dress in clothes
Sip the tea
You and me
For if Mr Piggy had our brain
Ten fingers
Clothes, and a name
Wouldn't he be just the same?

Very effective writing. I vote a 10 for all the poems I have read. This reminds me of my visit to the Cincinnati zoo. They had installed a mirror in one of the exhibitions and when visitors looked into it, the inscription reminded them that they were animals too.
well, you bring up a very interesting point here (licks self, then scratches...)
very cleverly said, the truth, why deny it, yes Mr. Doggy or Mrs Piggy would be the same if they could dress like us or talk. Stupid that dont realize that. beautifully said my dear. loved it.
Good to see a change from the romantic to the satiric and modern suburbia. Humour and parody, but with a deep self-questioning within. Retrospection leads to introspection,
Amazing write. Enjoyed reading and agree that self realization has become a bach bencher in the glam-up world. Thanks for sharing.10 points.
