Another Poem Poem by Thomas Bates

Another Poem

another poem -another recent event
born from solitude, taking its time and
taking shape
in this attempt of mine
to make sense
of all that's left -somehow
naked, without use for
whatever's not broken down yet
still, in nests of old clay and alabaster
taken by those
strangers,
ignorant
of anything pushing up against
borders
of envious pretention,
reflection
and small talk.
