Another Wasted Night Poem by Barry Jablonski

Another Wasted Night

Rating: 5.0

A shot of whiskey and a rebel yell
Another bar in a run-down hotel
The band is playin’ a Skynard song
My bartender is takin’ way too long

A blonde haired girl requests a song
The band tells her to move along…
She gets pissed and throws a beer
The owner bounces her out of here

Another night wasted in a rowdy bar
The girls all think they’re movie stars
I’ll buy them drinks and play the game
Maybe take one home for me to tame

Next morning I wake up with a sigh
And try to open my one good eye…
Looks like I learned to play the game
Now if I can just remember her name
