Anxiety Poem by Caroline Bulleck

Anxiety

Missing a step on the stairs
With every thought.
Every sense tasered, flares.
Fear in neurons, searing hot.
My mind screams, "Be ready to attack! "
How do I fight an invisible thing?
"Have to run! The beast is at your back! "
But where is safe? The demon is within.
