Any Heart's Winter Poem by Sandra Feldman

Any Heart's Winter

Rating: 4.0

Lost in, Time
Not knowing where to go
Past, Prime and Present,
Seem so long ago.

Merely above water
Hoping not to drown,
Sorrows that slaughter
When hope is not found
Circle around me,
At lonely door pound,
Sounds from the past
That painfully rebound,
In emptiness and sadness,
In love, that Time has drowned.

Your use of commas slowed down my read- I believe your intention. You warp and ripple conceptions of past and present and prime. I believe this poem is about growing older and the opportunities for love that that were passed by or lost. While memories rebound/resurface, that love cannot be captured ever again. A wistful, but beautiful bit of writing. Very well done! :)
