Appraisal (Romans 12: 1) Poem by Luke Easter

Appraisal (Romans 12: 1)

Rating: 0.5

Have you ever had an appraisal?
For a re-finance or new buy?
And though there’s a rule of thumb,
Sometimes different standards apply.

Single most important thing in real estate?
As always, where property resides,
Referring to the kingdom of heaven,
The parcel of land is located inside.

You can have the house aluminized or repainted,
With color-coded floors and wallpaper to buy,
Purchase the finest carpet, matching furniture,
Re-pave with premium asphalt your circular drive.

Block stained glass windows with filtered central air,
14th century Ming Dynasty Vase, Rembrandt in there,
Plush carpet so thick you could lose your keys,
Butlers to say, “have a seat in the library please”.

A fleet of maids to clean, an Italian chef to cook,
Limo driver so in transit you don’t have to look,
Landscaper to trim the bushes, edge and cut the grass,
Secretary to inform others, sorry tonight you’ll pass.

A gardener to prune, water and plant the flowers,
Rubbed down by a masseuse, pulsating hot showers,
Flown to golf matches, vacation spots on a private jet,
Diamond studded gold cross hanging around your neck.

Never having money problems, financially you’re set,
Head honcho, you are the one who signs the checks,
Presidents seek your approval, asking for good advice,
AKA the “Big Cheese”, everyone else are called mice.

Book of Romans chapter 12 verse 1 from the amplified,
Brethren you should be an example, a holy living sacrifice,
An appeal presenting your bodily members and faculties,
Therefore consecrated, devoted service so God is pleased,

A reasonable, rational, dedication, decisively intelligent,
Worship in view of mercies that are only heaven sent,
The Apostle begs us to be stamped with a spiritual label,
Only in the name of Jesus will you pass God’s appraisal.
