Are We Like Storms?

How quickly rain comes to the sky,
How hail seems to rush from the heavens,
When it plummets to the ground,
Everything seems to stop,
For it drops so quickly it’s as everything is speeding up,
When it rushes down the roads it’s like a wave of mist,
But how quickly it seems to stop,
And then there is silence,
Louder than the thunder that is soon to come,
Flashes of light,
Like memories of the wound, of the hurters,
Trying to be seen,
Through thick, gray clouds,
In a hazy sky,
Do we gaze up at,
Wondering how this happens,
A moment of life not understood,
What was the purpose of the hasty storm,
Does it really have that short of an attention span,
Does its anger only last seconds,
If only people were like rainstorms,
So hateful at first,
But then they realize that it’s no use,
They clear their skies with forgiveness,
And give a rainbow and let the sun shine,
To show they are truly sorry,
But dark clouds linger,
Are they like the vengeance of people,
Refusing to go away until the wind blows on them,
Is the wind like happiness, sorrow or love,
Do people help others get pass their afterthoughts,
Of what the others did to them,
When the world is silence, holding its breath,
Do the clouds stay or fade away,
When the sun is here (not yet where I am, it gets darker still) ,
Is the revulsion gone or hidden within?
