Are You Doing Your Bit Poem by AMRITA MALLIK

Are You Doing Your Bit

Time passed by then to reach now
set on an endless entourage
ahead it goes on with a vow
not to expedite, not to trade
but to be aimless and not be laid

time encores an epicenter of evolution
blissfully unaware of whose presence
it plants firm milestones on the way
with such an astounding ease
it suffuses a comforting effervescence
that veils the penance of pollution

blindfolded in our cobwebs
we truthfully remain ignorant
to unfolded facts, when we confront
our denial sets the stage for celebs

and then we hear on the screen
'Am doing my bit, are you? '
just to tip off on 'go green'
