Breaking All Bonds Poem by AMRITA MALLIK

Breaking All Bonds

Rating: 4.5

Hours and hours passed by,
Since u went away.
But u didn't look back,
And u didn't bid my bye.

All alone when I was,
Behind u I cried.
But u didn't see my tears,
And u didn't hear my sobs.

Many months went past,
U worked too hard and fast.
But u stayed in touch,
And u stayed in love.

Missing you day by day,
I learned how to make my way.
But you mistook it for a change in me,
And you mistook it for a cut in love.

When I didn't be like I always was,
You were like you always were.
But I was aware, you were hurt,
And I was aware, You were sad.

Never ever did you mind my words,
For good u also took my outbursts.
But you stood so strong,
And you stood unbent.

Keeping all your sorrows to your own,
You set your arrows for our battle to be won.
But all you needed was my support,
And all you wanted was my love.

Failing to lend them to you,
I fell so apart from you,
But you drew me closer and closer,
And you drew from the closeness all the power.

Finally the day you flagged our win,
My faith in you was reaffirmed, my jinn.
But that day you didn't look at me,
And that day you didn't come to me.

Valiantly and squarely you went ahead,
To unwind me from all bonds.
But you left behind the strongest one of all,
And you left behind its fate upon me.

Longingly as I looked back at it,
You lovingly held my hand.
But the bond, surprisingly didn't break,
And the bond, gracefully extended.

It held us both firmly together from that day.
The happiest moment had already dawned.
But he pain of a separation hovered around,
And the pain of a separation came to an end.

It commenced with the faintest hopes,
Confronted with sundry stumblings
But our love had triumphed
And our love had indeed triumphed.
