Are You Single Poem by Randy McClave

Are You Single

Does your partner know that you're single
And that on the internet that we mingle,
Do they know of the pictures that you have sent
And someday you will need to repent.
Do they know that we have been flirting and chatting
And all the while our minds and beliefs have been reformatting,
And do they know of the stories that you have told
My blood still runs cold.
Do they know how they used and abused you
And how they caused you suffering and feeling blue,
I wonder if your partner would really care
Knowing how at your pictures I constantly do stare.

Does your partner know that you are preparing to go on a date
And that I'm meeting you exactly at the park at eight,
And though you keep telling me that you are unattached
How come I feel a deceptive plan is being hatched.
Do they know that it's me that has been calling
And do they think that your hangups are both suspicious and appalling,
Do they know of your sadness and also of your strife
And also how you are no one's girlfriend or wife.
Do they know how you can always be believed and trusted
And how by bullies and liars you are really disgusted,
Now in my bones and in my heart I feel a tingle
Tell me, does your partner know that you are single.
