Armistice Poem by O Anna Niemus

Armistice

When governments vie
for money and markets
and start wars..
there is after
much blood
a surcease
... a temporary peace

but for the animal
victims of vivisectors,
for centuries there
has been no armistice

As a message I hate this and what it states. For me it is total reactionary garbage. Hoever as a poem I like it a lot. I have never come across the word 'surcease' before and it is used to good effect (I would cut out the following line, it tends t undermine the poem and take t off in a different direction as it deals with something too technical: a definition) . And though I find the comparison of Hman achievement against nimal innateness, offensive, I think that you have presented the narrative well and wthouthectoring the reaer.
