Armour Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Armour

Why be around fakes
you know they flake
Ain't none so great
but you, you have the heart of the sun
Don't let them steal your happiness
How can they when you push them away?
you know life better than anyone
let your lessons be your blessings
You've been abandoned by a loose cannon
pain is real, crazy, right?
but the ideal don't have you
lose sleep at night
You live your truth
and let your story be proof
and they feel hate for you
they wanting more of you
they running on E and need their tank filled
they will not ever be anymore thrilled
You dropped out on them, they had no principals
They fall from grace behind your back
and continue to smile in your face
but you have this unbothered attitude
and it might not come across as natural
but you refuse in any way to be devalued
what were you thinking?
When was it going to sink in?
'I hate people sometimes'
Don't think you were playing
but once it begun to weigh in
You operate on hate and that's a knife
Most likely to commit murder
You can't excuse this reckless life
let go of the anger
standing on your shoulder
if the chips don't fall,
this land will hold ya
but see, it's your call,
Ain't nothing going be right
Never love a hoe over your riches
their malicious when so ambitious
Never take a gamble,
why even risk it?
if you can't handle to lose,
then just resist it
Don't let this markets crash
leave you badly injured
know the future come with possibilities
beyond any unimaginable opportunities
Work hard and protect the cards
safely in your deck
