Arturo And The Black Cat Poem by Juan Olivarez

Arturo And The Black Cat

Rating: 5.0

Put a black cat in my hand,
I won't feel it i'm Superman,
I can take it, watch and see,
Nothing will happen to me.

Take a match, and light the fuse,
Go on do it, don't refuse,
Remember that i'm Superman,
I'm the strongest, in the land.

Ok Pepe, light the fuse,
Arturo says that it's no use,
He says, he's ' The Man Of Steel',
So a black cats really, no big deal.

Ka-Pow the black cat loudly went,
And Arturo's throat suddenly gave vent,
To the most horrible primal scream,
Ever on the Earth it seemed.

' Huercos Cabrones, ' you've sealed your doom,
Don Andres yelled from the living room,
But Pepe and I, we did'nt wait,
To learn what was to be, our fate.

Down the road we took a hike,
We ran, we forgot our bike,
Arturo kept on running too,
Around the house he fairly flew.

To this day we laugh out loud,
By ourselves, or in a crowd.
My very best friends of yesterday,
Are the ones I hold dear today.
