As I Step Outside Poem by Kerri White

As I Step Outside

As I look outside
with a focused view,
I see the amazing,
and I feel you.

The clouds caress me
as I'd rather you did,
and the sky envelopes me
as entirety's lid.

I call to the stars
as they scream out your name,
while the crickets are chirping
and the wind is tame.

The moon is focused
on reason for my smile
but with no answer to ponder
I know you made me worthwhile.

I stare deep into this sky
to find which part covers you.
Maybe you're out there
thinking the same way I do.
