As The World Burns Poem by Randy McClave

As The World Burns

As the world burns
The head slowly turns,
The world is on fire
And we know the people to call a liar.
The ones who spoke against climate change
Now don't think that this is strange,
That the world is now burning
With every revolution it is turning.
We pollute our waterways and our air
And our leaders don't really care,
They allow big businesses to pollute
As long as they receive their loot.
Gas emissions are all high
As you hear the birds cough in the sky,
And when the people burn trash
You can watch the birds die after they crash.
Think of your home as the earth
And your home is all your caring worth,
Now think of the smokers in your home smoking
No windows or doors opened and you're choking.
Then think of your pets on the floor leaving a mess
It is left there in full excess,
And your sink is full of dirty cups, plates and dishes
Now think of our waterways with the fishes.
The politicians and the uncaring believe there is no problem to fix
As they tell their lies, pay their bribes and pull their tricks,
Sadly the world is up for sale
The politicians and polluters have sold and bought it and made it hell.
