Ascension Poem by K J

Ascension

You are the pain that comforts me,
you are the perfect tragedy.
Watching you fall from your ascension,
basking in every imperfection.

This universe, I'm contemplating,
my mind breaks free, the darkness fading.
My heart is glazed, quickly elating,
forgotten dreams, the goals I'm chasing.

Observing a sky of stars,
I stare, and wonder what they are.
All hope is held, so far up high.
The rising sun, the shadows die.

I'm living in a haze of love,
with no regrets, so high above.
Rising fast, there's no return,
to this weighted life,
where the fires burn.
