Ashes Of Shame Poem by Morakinyo Temiloluwa Bolarinwa

Ashes Of Shame

Shame calls with a thundering voice,
thief! thief! in pitches beyond ignorance,
the consequence of an awful choice,
may not always deserve a second chance.

Jaguda paali, the son has spoilt the sonship,
has killed the name his forebears protected,
the legacy cliffs over and tips,
into eternal abyss of the disdained and hated.

Of course the name dies before the man,
as same as whom he jointly bears,
the dead, alive, yet conceived have earned,
a remembrance whose mention bulges the ears.

Yet, the ashes follows its thrower,
the Jungle woodcutter carries his wood with his head,
another man's son should not kill another man's father,
blow the ashes of shame solely to Jaguda's head.
