Ashes To Ashes Poem by Darin Bolvin

Ashes To Ashes

Hurt.

Devastation.

Factors in this mental exploration we call love.

But what is love aside from sick stomachs, battered egos and bruised hearts.

Love and happiness; Always put together, but they're worlds apart.

Keep that in mind when you start to fall.

Some say it's better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all.

But those that have known, know it's less painful to pull the trigger and end cupids call.

I'd rather have lost the love then love the lost; The cost is too much to bare.

The smell of her hair; The taste of her lips, the clever quips that let slip.

No, let it all go, don't take that road of the regretted; the heart is fattened by pain and you already fed it.

Quit spilling your guts over past ruts and insatiable lust; Chain up the emotions and let it rust.

Let ashes be ashes and hearts be dust..
