At The Cafe Poem by R. Ariffin

At The Cafe

Rating: 5.0

The window pane was translucent
From the rain the night before
I felt the chilling of recognition
As she welcomed me at the door

I sat there at my usual corner
Waiting for her eyes to meet
The cold spectacle of my eyes
As clouds blanketed the street

She reminded me of wondrous things
That glitter in purple and blue
Within a facet of possibilities
Of chances and dreams come true

So I lighted a cigarette and exhaled
For a wisp of expectations to appear
In mornings that sicken in silence
With much a little luck to steer

Then she waltzed across the floor
With pen and paper and as I watched
I felt the warmth that I once knew
Which I missed and longed for so much

'Hi there, may I take your order? '
She waited for the reply to brew
Yes, I acknowledged in my mind
‘Love and a wish come true’

2) Poems are for showing the true feeling of the poet, aren't they? In this cumbersome poem, one thing is clear: he loves her!

2) a restrained emotional poem, of a shy man or a difficult-expressing soul? The real smoke poison that intoxicates or will revive the situation because of nicotine influence?
