At The Riverside Museum, Glasgow Poem by Sheena Blackhall

At The Riverside Museum, Glasgow

From Sheena Blackhall;
Enjoyed the visit! So I wrote this poem…

Riverside Museum, Glasgow
Locomotives, buses, cars
Horse drawn trams, Victorian gear
Police car, fire engine and hearse
Glen Lee sailing ship berthed near

Figure4 head…the Helen Denny
Models o the QE2
And the Cunard White Star liner
River steamers, all on view

See the little puffer, Northlight
Photo of the Bennie boat
Jollyboat that served St Kilda
Keeping sea legends afloat

Workers banners….shipyard planners
Come and see the ship launch show!
Sailing ships…the Daphne's sinking
Many drowned…a bitter blow

Pakistani-Scottish van
Waggon, taxi, metro-cab
Family fairground caravan
Blunderbuss to stop and grab

Churchill upright coach built pram
Hillman imp and mini cooper
Faslane peace camp caravan
Mini Bentley, Ford, three wheeler

Skateboard, cabriolet,side car
Home made dummy bomb. A glider
Sports car, saddler, horse, pawnbroker
Step outside and buy a slider

1930s,60s,80s,
Mini skirts and racing bike
Star war figures, Cindy dolls
Books. Autistic owner's trike

Walk the streets of yesterday
Camera shop and cobbled lane
At the Riverside Museum…
Time's short? Hist ye back again!
