The Human Barbie Poem by Sheena Blackhall

The Human Barbie

Rating: 5.0

To be beautiful is my aesthetic
Though others may call me pathetic
I'll spend what it costs
To have prosthetic busts
And other procedures cosmetic

I'll have Botox pumped into my lips
I'll have fat introduced to my hips
Then I'll pout like a trout
And my bum will stick out
And I'll shell out for more tucks and nips

I'll have my face lifted as well
And a nose job. I'll be such a Belle!
I'll glue on fake nails
To impress all the males
And I'll step out a regular swell!

Very enjoyable reading. I liked your use of the limerick series. I have used that a few times myself. Happy New Year!

It's a horrifying what people mostly women do in order to be considered beautiful, all of it is fantasy. Well crafted poem madam!

Sheena, Now, YOU are 'my kind of gal/woman'! ! ! ! I am assuming 'swell' in the poem is meant to have the 2nd of the 2 definitions of 'swell' in British slang. See ahead: (cont.)

STANZA 2 WAS IMMENSELY ENTERTAINING FOR ME! ! = A-S-S, rear end, AND....buttocks. behind (informal) bottom. derrière (French, euphemistic) rump (informal) tush (slang) .

In preceding comment I should have typed 'a prosthetic bust', not just 'a bust'.

Line 4: I would (& do) suggest using 'a bust' [or ], not 'busts', because/as 'bust' refers to 1 chest (usually including a set of 2 ) refers to 1 chest, AND 'busts' refers to MORE THAN ONE CHEST. bri : )

AESTHETIC defined: 'noun a set of principles underlying and guiding the work of a particular artist or artistic movement.' I DID NOT KNOW THE WORD! ! : )
