At The Slide's Peak Poem by Reagan Loberternos

At The Slide's Peak

Rating: 5.0

Imprisoned with a faded memory,
I've been closing my eyes to the discords you gave me.

When moments of blindness were not yet realized,
I kept my spirits high by pretending it's me alone that you love
Thinking that it is for the better.
But the better has only caused me pain beyond compare.

I know I'll never relish the sweetness of freedom
For every kiss you gave made me a slave to your charm.

Now, I come to peak of the dreams that I once cherished.
Yesterday, you were my inspiration.
But now, the world desires my belief
To admonish myself to hate you so it would be easier for me to accept.

And so now, I ask you to give me back my poor heart, which you've put under your spell.
For if I won't, then I know
That even if you're tired of loving me,
'I will always love you.'
Constantly saying this, even if you go...
