At This Time Of The Day Poem by Zimkitha Dreamhouse

At This Time Of The Day

At this time of the day your face draws a picture in my head
Where heaven and earth kiss and silence is music to my ear
Where I have my arms stretched out clutching you and leaving fear

At this time of the day I count the drops on my forehead
And they spell out your name on my wrinkles of laughter
As I see you find the joys and creations of your daughter

At this time of the day I hear the eagles screeching to the mountains
So high they see what they can see but loneliness is present
How can our hearts and leave us in a place so cold and distant

At this time of the day I want to hear the door bell ring
When I hear your voice piercing my space with love and care
The safety net of me knowing you are around and always there

At this time of the day when the sun sinks back to its bed
And the ocean roars of laughter of the night you are safe and home
Where I can let you sleep on my lap softy like a lofty boat
In the sea finding his way back to me where love is always born
