Atonement Poem by Sathya Narayana

Atonement

Rating: 5.0

It was a broad moon light robbery.
The theft was notified
and the bandit was identified.

Ala, but under the Romantic Penal Code
there is no court and no plaint.

In fact it is the culprit
who is loved the most
and the lost gets the nemesis
of living the life left
in total emptiness!

But, no regrets,
it is atonement
to be bereft of heart!

It is not the 'gift' from outside of us that rewards. It is that which is dicovered when one 'ATONES' to that which comes through self examination. I enjoy your poem.

Very mysterious and mystical write dear uncle. I am decepted by the fore lines of the write but on knowing the intent that the culprit is loved most I got the heart of the writer. Wonderful. But I understood it in another way too uncle!
