Pirouette fearlessly
and stand
before the mirror
what it will
do for me
is reflect your grace
and for you
it will embrace
your every move
caress
to deny your body
deprives the art
and therein
is the crime
he who cannot
the one unable
to near walk so slow
must not sway
the other who
lives for
the adagio
M.J., as your title suggests, it's all about attitude. For most of my life, I used to believe that I was a klutz as a dancer. And then one day, I discovered that when I'm in the arms of someone who really knows how to dance, then I'm no longer a klutz. She's leading me into dance moves that I didn't even know I had. Not only is she dancing great, but so am I! Thanks for this beauty of a poem that's a great tribute to love, dance, devotion. And most of all...ATTITUDE.
Thank you so very much, Richard. When I wrote this, I did indeed have attitude in mind...mine. And then I remembered the meaning for the ballet dancer....the attitude. It is and remains a position for us both. Thank you again, Richard.
This is really a beautiful poem on love, dance and devotion having thrilling expression with nice collocation. Thanks for sharing this gem with us.
Thank you so much, Kumarmani...most especially for the observation about love, dance and devotion.
Therein is the crime! ! Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
The movement in your poem is so eloquently alive. One whose whole being dances to a different tempo to the observer. Beautiful write! ! !
Thank you so very much, Simone. Yes, this really is about two people who move in entirely different ways.
