Aung San was an army general.
His life so simple and humble.
He ate neither hamburger
nor bread and butter
at a grand hotel.
He said to his wife
that he would like
for breakfast to eat naam and bean
which was to be steamed,
a kind of poor man's food
that every Burmese understood.
After his death, it was disclosed
that he left only a few clothes.
He ate simple.
He wore simple.
He lived humble.
So different from the dictators.
(naam is a baked bread)

Sometimes the ones who lived the happiest and most peaceful lives are the ones who lived life most simply.
