Autumn Rain: Stories For The Broken Hearted - The Poetry Collection

AUTUMN RAIN: TRICKS & TREATS

Katherine becoming a white witch
Having started work at an occult shop
Where occult interested customers do stop
As they wander along the high street
Not knowing witches they will meet
Maxine the head of the coven
Also being the owner of the shop
Practising white magic
Practising for the good of Mother Earth
Katherine doubtfully casting a love spell
But when she met him close up
He was gorgeous: she could tell
Yet enemies on Katherine's back
But a backbone Katherine does not lack
The one and only Clara not friend but foe
Trying to make Katherine live in woe
Yet at the high school Halloween party
Katherine to dress up in witch attire
A religion - way of life -
She refuses to retire
Katherine a courteous and wise young woman
Who does not worship the devil
Or even practice black magic
For she has grace and fabulous style
And that will walk her in those high heels
Mile after endless mile.

RETURN TO INNOCENCE

Natalie Roberts the daughter
Of an domestically abused mother
Yet her mother to tell her
‘Never let a man hit you'
Natalie to carry this motto
Throughout her life
Even when she looks
At the horror life brings
With so much suffering
So Natalie deciding
To become a popular candy striper
Her local hospital a place to heal
A place where happiness happens:
Happiness no one can steal
And it was there Natalie made the decision:
Why not become a nun?
Why not renounce Satan?
And teach the word of God?
Natalie years later to see her mother
Divorce the man who gave her hell
Knowing Evelyn has made her decision well
For she knows she cannot suffer anymore:
She cannot continue to be emotionally poor
For her daughter is a wise and kind nun:
That Evelyn simply cannot ignore
Knowing she has her daughter on her side
Her daughter who gives her strength and pride
Natalie to support and stick to her mother's side.

A HORROR STORY

Daniel a writer, the year 1970
His grandmother actress recently deceased
Susannah having died from a short illness
Yet her soul sleeping in peace
Watching over Daniel as he writes
His horror story: a horror story to come true
That awful motel full of gruesome fear
Yet Daniel still does race back to his car
Quickly gun the engine and put it in gear
And skilfully steer
His way back to his grandmother's house
Only to find his body leaning over dead
The cursed typewriter having
Caused all that fear and dread
But Susannah does come for her grandson
Extending her hands to him
Her white light beautiful and magical
Releasing Daniel from hell forever
The story of the cursed typewriter
To haunt other souls as they are tricked.

WHERE SPIDERS DWELL

Leon once where spiders dwell
His father a demon from hell
A man who must've been taught well
By his own father: Leon's grandfather
High school comes to an end
Leon to graduate: the only way
To leave his evil father's house
A man similar to a woodlouse
Yet Leon suffers: and drugs do help
At least at first
Those illegal drugs to quench a thirst
For bright nights and bright lights
Until Leon has to turn to a life of crime
In the end going to hospital
The drug programme
Instead of doing jail time
And it is there Leon meets
The woman of his dreams
A woman who is all she seems
For she understands him
Knows he was where spiders dwell
Knowing they are together
They will brave this hell
And grow stronger and wiser.

RED LIPSTICK

Roxanne studying a beauty course at college
Knowing she loves fashion and magazines
Yet she decides to be the model of the scene
Although her nose on the large size
She does become wise
And not agree to a nose job
She has luscious full lips:
That look perfect in red lipstick
And she does have mega long legs
Gorgeous in tights and sexy high heels
Having her photos taken
Making every photo pop
For being a model is hard work
But the fun also doesn't stop
Roxanne to rise to the top
Even with all the demands being at the top means
And eating disorders are not Roxanne's scene:
Being a street-wise woman
Who does truly believe in herself.

CLUB RICH B*TCH

Five characters in Club Rich B*tch
Five characters to cause mayhem
From rumours: Candy
From a sex scandal: Georgia
From a Shy Mouse: Grayson
From blackmail: Maxine
From the boss: Hannah
Five women of very different personalities
Yet coming together as one
Having survived troubles
Yet also causing trouble: Maxine the culprit
But they show how opposites attract
And interest in Club Rich B*tch does not lack
Their lives diverse and on the right track.

ANGEL IN THE MIRROR

Crystal an angel in the mirror
Having once been a vampire
Charles and his friends troublemakers
But Crystal does talk to God
Turning to pig's blood
Knowing in life there is love
And that there is more than torture and blood
Vampires causing pain: an emotional flood
Yet soon Crystal to have a gorgeous son
A young boy with skin so pale:
No matter the amount of sun
But Charles has his beady eye on Zachary
Wanting the boy another member of the vampire family
Yet Crystal tricks Charles, turning him to dust
Doing what she simply must
And Crystal paints many paintings
Especially the oil painting of her son
For Zachary will never be a vampire
And they both have karmically won.

BLUE CANDY

Dots of light scatter across the view,
From a distance I'm closer to the view.
The water moves as the boats remain silent in the view,
The screams from the park sheltered by the moon.
Blue firemen spread their heat,
The powder now a liquid with emotions to defeat.
People fire their souls as the rides end their attack,
Blue candy waiting inside them to react.

I travel along the water through my mind's eye,
Remembering myself with blue candy's tie.
I look to the park: distanced from the view,
The view ending with my eyes looking to the moon.
I see no clouds as the fire spreads inside,
Desire blue candy hitting in all minds,
Raw emotion no longer hidden inside.

Blue candy burns inside my mind,
The powder waiting to leave my past behind.
Blue candy fires as it heats like the sun:
Once inside it cannot be undone.
Every line is stirred under a darkened moon,
Burning desire blue candy's monsoon.
Like fire I call blue candy to defeat,
I, lying alone in a city's white light heat.

THE UGLY TRUTH

Linda with an enemy: the mirror
Being labelled ‘The Brain'
And wearing heavy makeup
Yet Linda does need to wake up:
And realise she is already beautiful
That she is more than intelligent
Linda to see a counsellor
Discussing her childhood
Although not abused but a tad neglected
Due to food being put on the table
And her parents working full-time
Linda not able
To see the signs of her flagging self image
Although never self harming
Or insulting herself
For Linda is never the fool
But shows how to learn to love one's looks:
How to look good in the mirror and stay cool.

CANDY

Candy - or Carol - to graduate high school
And venture to New York
With legs that make her look like a stork
Becoming a dancer
And a brave life chancer
Loving her work
Never feeling any hurt
When rejected for some videos and shows
Loving the travel and soon meeting
The man of her dreams
And going on to have his wonderful children
Although still called Carol by her parents
Candy loves her stage name
For it is funky and pretty
Carol as sweet as candy
And always the winner
With confidence and real guts
Never letting herself down
And never wearing a frown.

VIRTUAL REALITY NIGHTMARE

A young man buying a virtual reality headset
With a computer programme no one will forget
For David first travels the terrain of Mars
His headset making him feel he's gone excitedly far
So he chooses another programme
Unfortunately for David a T-Rex one
The show running for two hours once fun
Now suddenly becoming frightening
Making David want to run like lightning
But the headset refusing to come off
Does leave his heart stopped in fear
As the T-Rex does come near
Even though in a safety car
These fears go deep: go far
Into the unknown
But a twist of the father made known
His son having grown
From young boy to young man
Jonathan not realising the master plan
Of the real inventor of the virtual reality headset.

THE PARISIAN MARGUERITE

Marguerite a beautiful Parisian
The 1800's magical with their superstitions
But Marguerite to go further:
To talk to the devil
Yet not realizing the devil a traitor
The devil that will soon put her in hell
And make her learn her lesson well
Causing trouble:
Stealing jewellery
Letting a poisonous snake escape
Bullying the servants
Smothering her mother
Marguerite did it all
And now she does fall
Losing her looks and beauty
As she fades into hell
Going to dungeons where spiders dwell.
