Autumnal Equinox Poem by Melanie Grant

Autumnal Equinox

The boulevard
draped with autumn’s colourful coat
the eccentric season.
Leaves like little embers
Setting the road on fire.
Losing their breath,
drained of colour.
Obeying the anonymous deity.
Falling to their destiny
one solemn conclusion -
death.
