Awake Poem by Spencer Keator

Awake

I lay beneath the covers of my bed
awake in fear of death.
I try to breath in deep all the air
face the wall and stair.

If only the moon will grant my wish
and make me sleep.
If only this fear would subside
so I could sleep the remainder of this night.

As for now I lay awake beneath the covers of my bed
in fear of certain death.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
