On this day, we celebrate the birth
Of a man who showed us the way
To peace, to love, to harmony
And to live without dismay.

Born as Siddhartha, he left his home
In search of the truth profound
And after years of meditation
The Buddha's wisdom was found.

He taught us to let go of desire
To detach from pain and pleasure
To cultivate mindfulness and compassion
And to live each moment with measure.

On Buddha Purnima, we remember
The message he left for us all
To walk the path of enlightenment
And to rise above life's thrall.

Let us pay homage to the Buddha
And strive to follow in his way
May his teachings guide us always
And bring us peace each day.
