Back to the Future

There's a time to be troubled
and a time to be calm.
But now all I can remember
is how you had me within your palm.
And Lord knows I've tried everything
but the road is so long
to get back to the future
to that place where I belong.

*** So take me back to the future
where mistakes are all gone.
Back to the future where
love goes on and on.
So take me back to the future
where lessons are learned.
Back to the future where
no one ever gets burned,
back to the future with you.

There's a time for heartache
and a time for pain.
But there's a time for healing
so love can remain
And Lord knows I've tried everything
but the road is so long
to find that place I remember
where I know I belong,
back to the future with you.

But you gotta meet me halfway
Can't do it on my own.
I have to hear you tell me
you're tired of being alone.

REPEAT *** Chorus

Poem of the Day

poet Henry David Thoreau

My books I'd fain cast off, I cannot read,
'Twixt every page my thoughts go stray at large
Down in the meadow, where is richer feed,
And will not mind to hit their proper targe.
