Band Of Brothers Poem by louis rams

We are a band of brothers and sisters stationed
In countries far away - where civil wars
Are fought"day to day".
We've become the peace keepers for the oppressed
Who are so very tired and need a bit of rest.

The struggles are the same worldwide
People are fighting for freedom, and that they can't deny.
Poverty, hunger, sickness and civil war is all they have
To look forward for.
" Peace " is just a word blowing in the wind
But it's in their hearts hiding deep within.

Many want us there in hopes of creating change
So their lives will not stay the same.
All of this has been here since the beginning of time
humanity could not live together so GOD separated us
But if we was to use our own monetary words which say
" IN GOD WE TRUST "
It would be a blessing for all of us.

Let all the good hearted people hold each others hands and soon
It will spread throughout each and every land.
I know it will not happen in my lifetime, but maybe for
Our great grandchildren, this world will be just fine.
