Baptise Us In Your Love! Poem by Denis Martindale

God, grant us love, baptise us so,
Such that Your love will overflow,
A waterfall of perfect love,
Descending power from above.

Yet when it reaches us on Earth,
Let it touch us like cleansing surf,
Warmed-up, refreshing, ever new,
Anointing blessings just from You.

Reminding us, Christ is the link,
So we give thanks and on Christ think,
For Christ alone has borne our sins,
Such that believers' souls He wins.

Just think, Christ is the King of Kings!
He destines us for greater things!
God, grant us love, baptise us so,
Such that Your love will overflow!
