Barriers Broken Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Barriers Broken

These days.
As remarkable as the changes,
Upon us all to either to accept or deny.
Fake or embrace with a qualified imitation.

Happiness to limit no longer applies to image.
Or who with it their happiness is shared.
Those barriers are being broken.
And those who recognize,
What the dawning of these times mean...
Are not seeking to get approval,
Of who it is they should appreciate...
For being themselves.
Or the impressions they make to others.
Confined to minds unable to find,
That comfort.
Without asking someone else how and what to feel.

And this,
Seems only to be a problem existing...
For the ones with wishes to repeatedly visit,
The past their ancestors embellished.
Not to know what was told,
Were ideals more dreamed about than actually lived.
And these days the difference made?
Few are heard spending to waste their time,
Embellishing their realities to live.
Explore and adventure.
