Be A Jewel Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Be A Jewel

Why do you doubt that Jesus Lives?
With one foot in the grave
Refusing Light that Heaven gives
Being the devil’s slave

You live confused afraid to die
Life’s walk has been in vain
Sparing no thought of God on high
Believing it all insane

Drinking the devil’s cheap sweet wine
Making you drunk and blind
You’ve turned you back on love divine
As though you’d lost your mind

In life you need a lightning rod
Made up of love and care
Diverting thoughts direct to God
Converting them to prayer

Consult The Lord in all your ways
Your God who all can see
Walk in His presence all your days
And watch the devil flee

You went to school you’re not so dumb
You’re not bogged down with pride
You’ve heard that Christ again will come
To take Himself a bride

A bride made up from such as you
And someone just like me
Someone prepared to change their view
And train their eyes to see

Why continue this fools charade?
Playing the devil’s clown
Leave his party, join God’s parade
As jewel in Jesus’ crown
