Be Different Poem by Raken Marimuthu

Be Different

This is a world of meaningless masses
Herds of asses running blind to ashes
They can think and they know it is wrong
They can’t break away for they are not strong
Words of wisdom they will speak for others
What they preach for them they don’t bother
What others say about them is important
Their self opinion about themselves is impotent
Hiding inner shame in glamour dress is fashion
Putting up a show to please others is impression
Living beyond means is the demand of the day
Borrowing for pride, they won’t know how to pay.

But you must be different from the masses of today
Speak your mind and always be yourself of the day
Be not a coward to fight to be different in your way
Stick to your belief and shun others of what they say
Live for yourself, your dreams, and your inner truth
Fight for what is right even if you need to be uncouth
Like Lion, keep your manly majesty of an informed king
Knowledgeable to everything and never to ignorance a kin
To yourself be always true and let your conscience lead
Be a different hero that is what the world now needs.
