Be Gone, Pain in my Past

Be gone, darkness in my heart!
I am tired of feeling sad and dark
I will no longer carry you in my soul
With your weight that make my bones groan
Be gone, darkness in my heart!

Be gone, pain in my words!
Let the light shine through the storms
Let the rain and cold end at last
Leave my troubles in the past
Be gone, pain in my words!

Be gone, doubt in my mind!
It is finally my turn to shine
Leave their words in the dust
Learn again how to trust
Be gone, doubt in my mind!

poet Henry David Thoreau

Whate'er we leave to God, God does,
And blesses us;
The work we choose should be our own,
God leaves alone.
