Be Ready Poem by Marien Jacobs

Be Ready

My Father in heaven above,
How will I ever understand Thy love?
Lord, how much is Thy mercy and grace
For every one of us to face?

Thát we will never know on earth,
But maybe one day when our death gives birth
To set my soul free
For its journey to eternity.

And that is way it’s important to seek
You while we’re young and not when we’re old and weak,
For we will never know when You will leave us
And when life will deceive us.

Therefore form You, don’t let us turn away
And say there may be another day,
For what if this day is our last?
And we let our chance to find You pass?

But still, at this moment, which could be your last,
God’s love and mercy has not yet pass,
And all He waits for, is for your knee to bent
And for your whole heart to repent.

For he that cometh to Him,
God will in no wise cast out,
But also to him that God has redeemed
God’s love will be all that life is about.
