Beat The Gloom Poem by Tribhuvan Mendiratta

Beat The Gloom

Rating: 5.0

Beat the doom and gloom
Of these grim days anon
Stand by the window,
Why not in the balcony,
Or up on the terrace,
And look at birds.
Good morning cheerful bulbuls.
Breakfast with a flock of munias
Lunch with Exuberant parakeet,
Fairly good table manners and upbeat
Tea with Mynahs — with civilized discussion!
Babblers and hornbills' evening romantic streak;
Barbet the late evening mood-lifter;
Like having too much gin to give a damn!
Lo, night approaches a-la resplendent peacock
Dinner reminds night like black kites
Wheeling with barely a wing beat,
Steering with tiny flicks of their tails,
Reminding despite all sanguinity
When will we be able to do that again?
