Beautiful Nightmares Poem by Cassandra Kasten

Beautiful Nightmares

When you sleep and your mind shows you something.
Something pleasant,
you call it a good dream,
but I happen to believe that is an incorrect term.
For dreams are things you experience in the
waking world.
They are what you want.

What you say is a good dream,
I call a beautiful nightmare.

But beware the horrors that can come forth
from your mind.
The fears that crush your hopes.
The terror that torture your mind.
They are called The Night Horrors.
And I'll let you in on a little secret.

The reason people call beautiful nightmares,
good dreams are they get the two confused.
Beautiful nightmares are pleasant things your mind shows you in your sleep.
Good dreams are the weapons used to fight

Really an insightful piece of poetry, well articulated and nicely penned with conviction. A witty creation set aside for sober reflection. Thanks for sharing Cassandra and do remain enriched.
