Because Of You Poem by Nevaeh LeFroy

Because Of You

You snear at my friends, you call my lover names,
You point your finger and say, 'shame, shame, shame.'
You scorn and yell at me, that's all you do these days,
You say I can't love her, no way, NO WAY!

You say you don't like them, you even told her,
But with every insult and sniker,
You make my heart that much colder.
Your words of hate are like a knife,
Stabbing deeper and deeper into my heart,
And now you're wondering why we're growing so far apart.

With scars from the past,
Wounds from the present and space for the future,
I grab my needle and thread and begin to suture.

I stitch up my heart again, this is true,
But the reason why it was ripped to shredds
Is because of you...
