Behind My Fake Smile... Poem by Nikita Jawahar

Behind My Fake Smile...

Through the blur,
I wondered if I was alone,
Every day that had once been joyous
Are now miserable and troublesome.

The emotions whether they were joy or sorrow,
Are deep and sharp,
As you left me raw, exposed and yes, in pain.
Every hardship tackled easily with you by my side,
Every new day that begins with your smile,
Every cry that ends with an encouraging note,
Every problem that is solved when you are around,
Every lovely moment that I spent joyously with you,
All are missing!
All are lost!

Behind my fake smile lies a lonely heart,
I just think of your arms wrapped around me…
And I can't help but start crying.
I think I should move on,
But something tells me to wait.
It's my heart.

I lost my best friend when you left
I lost my Buddy, my Brother, my Friend,
With a belief that you are watching over me,
I will always be your Baby Girl,
And you will always be my Dad.
I know I will always be the luckiest,
To have the best Dad any girl could have had.
