I remember as a little girl
My family went to church together
Sunday school was first, of course
Just me and my big brother
We learned about God and Jesus there
And at home each and every day
It was something so important
To trust in God that special way
We said our prayers each night
Before we went to sleep
It made me feel so safe knowing
My soul God would truly keep
Although, you know as a child
You’re not sure about everything
I enjoyed Sunday school and church
With a childlike voice I loved to sing
I’ve raised my children this way too
To believe God is always with them
I hope it helps them get through life
That from their childhood hope will stem
And now I have precious grandchildren
When they spend the night with me
We close our eyes, bow our heads
And then pray to God mercifully
We ask Him to keep our families save
To please guide us from all sin
Oh yes, I think it’s so important
To teach children to believe in Him!
