Belonging Poem by Alison Eeles

Belonging

Have you ever just looked up at a tree, or a flower, or a mountain, or a river... And wondered how it got so beautiful?

Our mother, our nature, so spectacular, so familiar.

A beauty beyond words, reason or explanation... perfectly imperfect :)

The way the wind blows through her trees,
The way her river runs,
The love her moon shines down on us,
Her rain glistens in the sun.

To say you only see her,
Gives justice not a bit.
To feel her breath, to smell her life,
Her earth on which to sit.

She is beauty...
Many parts make up her whole.
She is love, she is fierce, she is determined, To fill every living soul.

Her fragility bestows her,
Her strength undefined,
She believes and trusts in all she loves,
Her soul connected with her tribe.

We can let our world define us,
And miss the essence of our soul,
To wander out in nature,
Reminds us of our goal.

We are but one with earth,
We are nothing but the same,
Our core is made from stardust,
Our lights are all the same.

Many souls forget their light,
But feel their missing link,
Others choose the shadowed life...
They wonder how they sink.

We've all walked through some shadows,
Though the lucky have seen the light,
We are but one with earth,
And with our tribe we fight.

We fight for peace and love all round,
We fight for those we love,
Our tribe are those who lift us up,
Hard times we rise above.

So let us not forget our mother,
Let us not forget our tribe,
Let us not forget the special souls,
Who make us feel alive.

For we are all but one with earth,
And many lives our souls will live,
Love long, love hard, love love itself, love all, just give, give, give...
